If you take a walk through Trier it automatically becomes a journey through time. At the same time not only the over 2000 Years old City attracts with its roman Attractions like the City Gate “Porta Nigra”, the “Kaiserthermen” and the Founds in the Thermic Museum or the Museum of the “Rhein”. Trier was governed by rich Electors beginning at the 14th Century, so beautiful Buildings in stile of Romantic, Rennaissance and Barock are not rare.
On display is the medieval Ratsweinhaus „Zur Steipe“ on the with half-timbered house decorated main market. The „Dom“ and the „Liebfrauenkirche“(both our biggest Cathedrals) embody the fusion of architectural styles from Roman times to the 18th Century. In the „Kurfürstliches Palais“ there is the staircase of a student by Balthasar Neumann and a „Palastgarten“ to discover with Baroque figures. The romantic church „St. Mathias „is, according to legend since 12 Century the grave of the apostle of the same name. Alive is the great past at the antique festival in the „Amphitheater“ and in the “Thermen” (an old big Roman Bath installation).
